Unloq Limited is a mergers and acquisitions business based in Reading, Berkshire. Our main service is to help corporations, private equity and individuals buy businesses more successfully. Our business is digital-based, relying on data and technology to give it an edge as it competes with more traditional companies in the M&A space.
Our business has grown consistently across the last 2 to 3 years and we have continued to invest in technology to support the team and give us a competitive edge as well as a moat. We are now looking for a skilled data scientist to join the team to help us build for the future.
We are seeking a motivated, organised, and efficient person to be responsible for helping us manage a wide range of projects as effectively as possible. You must be comfortable with computers, confident on calls and dynamic with decisions. We want to train you to help lead the growth of the company.
The practical work you do will vary. From data and analysis work, where you are reviewing company financial information or assessing viability and ownership all the way through talking to acquisition opportunities who need to be qualified and handled carefully.
You will often be talking to and communicating with business leaders and you need to have enough confidence to do so without becoming too casual. So it helps if you have a mature and unflappable manner and be able to manage a wide range of different roles and responsibilities.
You do not necessarily have to have a degree, but you need to have good written English, a polite manner, good mathematical and organisational skills with attention to detail being paramount.
This is a busy role and is suitable for someone who likes challenge and autonomy. You will ideally possess the following skills:
Outstanding coordination and organisation – required for managing and coordinating multiple projects, skills and communication skills
Interpersonal – you’ll need to be charismatic but professional when talking with the team, leadership, partners and suppliers, being able to problem solve, but also listen to others and, at times, adapt your thinking
Numeracy – you’ll need to be on the numbers for mental and typed calculations as you review financial data and figures, sometimes within calls with clients
Literacy – you will be communicating with our customers, suppliers and installers via email, chat, video and in person, so an excellent standard of spoken and written English is vital
Commercial – you need a commercial mindset, it is vital that you understand the value of what you are overseeing and how it benefits Unloq as we continue to invest in growth
Computing & Systems – Unloq is a digitally transformed business, so everything is done online through web-based software and customer databases. So your purpose is to make sure that all the systems we use: CRM, GSuite, APIs, Data Suppliers, Integrations, Automations and AI all work and improve to benefit the company and those using the systems daily
This is a full time position. The role will suit someone looking for a dynamic company, using technology and modern communications to serve customers better. We hope the successful candidate will be able to enjoy the day to day work as well as carving out their future career.
Salary £32,000 O.T.E. depending on experience.
